to make the chase?
Out of the drivers currently in the top 12 in points there are 4 drivers still winless so far this year Biffle,J.Gordon,Harvick and Stewart.
Only 1 driver not currently in the top 12 in points has a win,Ryan Newman.
Out of the drivers currently in the top 12 with wins we have Kyle B. with 4,Burton has 1,Jr. has 1,Edwards with 3,Johnson got 1,Hamlin has 1,Kahne got 1,and Bowyer has 1.
Harvick,J.Gordon or Tony may very well get their win this weekend, but can they make the chase without it?
I’m thinking someone may fall out and Newman will be in.
Burton is still sitting 2nd in points only 32 points behind the leader. Harvick held on to 10th,396 points behing the leader and Bowyer fell to 12th a whopping 449 points behind the leader.
Both Penske cars qaulified well,so did the Labonte brothers for Petty Enterprises. Go Terry!
RCR qaulified their usual with the #07 in 19th,the #31 in 20th,and the #29 a dismal 32nd. The only thing that cheers me up is Stewart was even worse.
On a bright note Harvick was fast in first practice. So were J.Gordon and Marcos Ambrose and both of them qaulified well.
I can’t wait to see it all unfold. Both this week’s race and the race to(and including)the chase.
But back to the question, can they make the chase without a win?

I still dig Nascar
and road courses but man am I disheartened this morning. On the bright side Harvick allways falls out and makes it back in in time for the chase. The rest should be frosting since he got the goober out of the way.

I hope
because Harvick keeps falling back and could really use a win.
Kennseth only 16 points out of 12th sitting in 14th,it’s pretty close there those 3 spots.

Sure can!
The top 12 guys in points at the cutoff are in the chase. Doesn’tmatter if you win or not. It’s all based on points. The disadvantage is that everyone who is in the chase that actually won a race gets 10 points per race added to their totals. That seperates the Chase drivers somewhat, but the chances exist that driver could win the Championship just by consistancy alone.
I wouldn’t holdmy breath on it happening, but theoretically…It’s possible!

they need at least 1 win
to be assured of the oppurtunity to make it in the chase. Go Harvick! Get that Infineon win!

LOL
No,that’s why I’m only counting on 2 for RCR. Got to leave some room for Rousch.

I’m not crazy that about HMS,so it’s all good.

I'm not that crazy about Harvick
But I don’t have anything against Burton or Bowyer. I was impressed with Bowyer last year – weren’t we all! I wouldn’t mind seeing him in the Chase again.
Three Hendrick, three Gibbs, and three Childress. That doesn’t leave much room, does it?

I like it for my guy
that the points get reset, but if he had a lead like Jeff did last year and then someone else won it…..oh I would be stroking!
