Denny is a good guy!!

First, thank you for adding me to the crew.
Second, I want to share my Denny Hamlin story.
I never thought much about Denny Hamlin until the drivers were here testing prior to Speed Week back in January.
A bunch of the drivers were here in Daytona testing and one night the track had a few Q&A sessions w/ the drivers.
Some of the drivers stopped to sign a couple of autographs when they were done w/ the Q&A. Denny was sooo cool, he stayed until every autograph had been signed and every picture had been taken. The other drivers and their transportation to the Q&A session left Denny behind. He was determined to not leave until there were no more autographs to sign. Since the transportation left him, he had to walk back to motor coach lot. He walked back through the Fan Zone area at DIS like he was just an average fan. That was the coolest thing I have ever seen any driver do. Ever since that night, Denny Hamlin REALLY earned my respect! He was a completely nice guy. He has my vote as the nicest guy in NASCAR!
I just had to pass this story on because I think everyone needs to know what a great guy he is!!

RE: Denny is indeed a good guy!

A bit late I reckon commenting on you comment, but I totally agree with you. I actually have my own story to tell you. My husband and I missed the ticket cutoff for an autograph session at his souvenir hauler at Martinsville last fall during the Chase by two spots and as a result we both waited behind the souvenir hauler where Denny exits to get onto a golf cart at the autograph time to go back to the motor coach lot with about thirty others at least and he stopped and signed everyone’s item or items that were waiting patiently back there with us that didn’t make the cutoff. Not only that but he also shook hands with all of us as well. It took him a lot longer to get back, but I thought (so did my husband who isn’t as big of a Denny fan as I am but was standing in line with me for me so we could get more things signed) that doing such a thing was a fantastic gesture and quite classy. And the thing is I’ve seen him do it every time I’ve gone to a race where he has had an autograph session at his hauler scheduled (Budweiser Shootouts 2006 & 2007; Martinsville Spring & Fall Races 2006 & 2007). Hubby and I have made all the other ticket cutoffs for the autograph sessions, but yet, like I mentioned before we still saw him do what he did for us before that Fall Race during the other races as well. As a result among hubby and me we have four diecast cars siged by him as well as two hats.
