I never really believed there was good chemistry between Bobby and “Fatback” McSwain. With Tony Stewart as a team mate running an average of 3rd place, the 18 car seemed plagued with accidents and mechanical failures. I don’t know a lot of Nascar stats, but that’s the way I remember it. In a couple races this season, I noticed Bobby right behind the next position car, no 18. I wondered if Bobby had seen any irony at those times, I know I did. Though it may seem that the no. 18 is running better then it did just before Bobby left it, I strongly believe that it’s the car and not the driver.
As I mentioned I don’t know a lot of stats, but from watching the races I’ve noticed that when the no. 43 Cheerios Dodge is in good form, Bobby can bring it up front.
I’m a long time fan of Bobby and since “Victory Junction”, my admiration of Kyle Petty and Petty Enterprises grew. Now with Evernham Motors putting the power plants in those Dodges, I’ve noticed quite a decrease of engine failures for the Petty team.
I believe in Bobby Labonte, Kyle petty, Petty Enterprises and Evernham Motors. I also greatly believe that Petty Enterprises will again be among the very top teams.
Go Bobby and Kyle! Were cheering for you!!

Longtime fan of Bobby's.
I’ve been a longtime fan of Bobby Labonte since his days with the #18, green Interstete Battery car and the Joe Gibbs team, but now that hes changed teams , car #, and sponsor, things are looking very interesting for him, and hopefully looking up as well.

Makar was the difference
Bobby truly hasn’t been the same since Jimmy Makar got promoted to car chief of the #18. He and Bobby could read each other’s minds, and Bobby trusted anything Jimmy wanted to do to the car. Then JGR also started building cars more suited to Tony’s driving style, which is totally different from Bobby’s, and, well, there you go. Bobby also said that he thought JGR was getting too big, (I think he missed Coach Joe’s daily presence), and he wanted to get back to a smaller, family company. Kyle and Bobby are longtime friends, and Kyle didn’t have to do too much persuading. Bobby gets everything possible out of every car PE gives him, but financially, I think they’re suffering behind the top teams. They need to find a partner like Roush did—and soon.

True
I thought Bobby had good chemistry with “Fatback”. It’s when he left and was replaced by Steve Addington which Bobby had absolutely no chemistry with. And as far as Bobby being behind J.J. Yeley It’s because J.J. clicks with steve Addington. Atleast thats what I think.
