I heard this from a reliable second-hand source years ago. Mr. France was not only devoted to his sport, but to it’s finances. Apparently, shortly after he took over the reigns from his father, he was standing in the pits during pre-race festivities. While watching a paratrooper land in the infield, Mr. France turned to staffer next to him and asked if the paratrooper had a ticket. After receiving the answer of “I don’t know,” he responded “If he doesn’t, make sure he leaves before the race begins.”

Thank You Mr. France
If it were not for your vision and business savvy, NASCAR would not be where it is today. We thank you for bringing stock car racing to the world stage and forwarding it’s excitement to the masses. My condolences to the France Family and those in NASCAR feeling this loss. God bless.
