No I can honestly say I am not a Busch fan…and do not see myself ever being one. Is it because he cannot drive, nope because I have seen him save a car several times when it was almost sideways. For me it’s attitude, thats why I do not like him. He thinks his S%@# don’t stink. You can be a sorry loser and whats worse is a sorry winner.
I feel sometimes when any driver wins alot people are are not going to like him, because this means their driver is not winning. And that is only natural for a hard core fan to be that way. But I look at another driver that has been in this position, to make a comparison and that is Jeff Gordon. When he was in his early stages of his career he won alot of races. But it was more than Busch could imagine. Look at the stats, his wins were much more than than Busch’s were at this point in his career. And not just wins, Championships also. And people loved to hate the Rainbow Warriors. And I use the word hate as a discription not a literal term. Whos another example? Ole DW wasn’t exactly liked either even after he started winning races, because he like to run that mouth. Had alot of fans though. Dale Sr. was exactly liked till he started winning races, but the difference with him was not that he physically ran his mouth, he did his talking with his car and I think that was the difference with Dale Sr. He just fit the mold of what NASCAR was about.
For all the reasons people do or do not like Busch the point of this is people I feel sometimes pick drivers to like because of the way they carry themselves and their personalities. For those who do like him I will say again he can drive. For those who don’t I can say I completely understand why. Because I do not either. But is it because he winning races…not completely. But I did not like him before this year either so winning does not have much to do with it. Because his attitude was the same, now just worse. Again I will close by saying in all due respects he can drive a car.

attitude blog – I’m just going to ask two questions, what was you like @ 23 – and then I’m going to remind you that generations change and ask, what are other 20 to 25 years old like right now? Is KB, on top of the world, winning races, taking names, acting any different? Just a thought.

I appreciate your comments and I do not disagree with you. But the the jest of what I was saying has nothing really to do with age, stats, etc. I mentioned those to say sometimes the sport has those “love to hate drivers” which all of those mentioned were. And the whether winning had to do something with it. I appologize if the way I worded it was not clear. I have a hard time sometimes with that. Hopefully I did not come across as if I was really comparing these against KB. Even though thats what I did in words. I was just using those comparisons to make the point sometimes we as fans chose to like or dilike a driver for our own personal reasons. And these love to hate drivers is sometimes because they do “WIN”. Although I must say that is a small reason for me. I will be honest my driver is having a rough year because his crew chief can’t seem to get the handle on this car, and KB is winning and Jeff is not. LOL

I like your views. but there are a few things to remember here. You mentioned 3 drivers in your blog. although I agree that KB does not compare to any of them here is some stats to look at. Darrell Waltrip was a 28 year old rookie, and was 34 when he won his first championship, never winning the ROTY Award. Dale Earnhardt was a 28 year old rookie, an ROTY Award winner, and a 29 year old Champion. Jeff Gordon was a 22 year old rookie, a ROTY Award winner, and a 24 year old Champion. Kyle Busch is 23, has 10 wins, a ROTY Award and may possibly get an Championship at 23. I am not saying he will, I am saying it is possible. so really to measure his maturity aginst guys like 10 years his senior when they came aboard, isn’t really fair. Now with Gordon at least they are still in the same ballpark.
