My name is Todd from Indiana and I am a devout Jr. fan, and I am sad to see Jr. in the situation at Richmond.
I think Kyle Busch is just a young inexperienced driver right now and He is learning as did other ones before Him. Remember when Ryan Newman was new? He spun out people quite a bit his first year. (DOOH!).
Kyle is a great driver and he reminds me of a driver that started out years ago, that lost His life. Yes, the man in Black! I do not think Kyle intentionally wrecked Jr.. Kyle is just young and had the win in front of Him. Yes, Kyle is cocky, but in time He will mature.
Anyway, the purpose of my blog is that I hope the Jr. Nation does not boo Kyle when He is walking His Mother across the stage when they recognize the Mothers of the drivers.
This is totally disrespectful! I for one would be ashamed to be a Jr. fan doing that. I am sure that Jr. would not want fans booing Theresa just because She did not want Jr. to run DEI. Theresa is Dale Sr.’s widow, show some respect for that. Show respect for all the Drivers Mothers!
Think of how these Mothers must feel when their Sons are booed in their company. Think of how you would feel if you were with your Mother on the weekend of Mother’s day and people were shouting obcenities and booing you!
I am not saying that all Jr. fans will partake in this, but I hope the Jr. fans at Darlington will think about this when Kyle walks out with His Mother.
She raised a Son to be proud of as all NASCAR Mothers did.
If you have a beef with a certain driver, then there is a time and place for it. Not a cheap shot on Mother’s day weekend.
GO DALE JR.!!!

Thanks for the post. I totally agree that it was inappropriate for people to boo during introductions yesterday when he was walking out with his mom.

Nicely put – Nascar fans are passionate – but respect is a key word. Respect others right to cheer on another driver – respect the other drivers & their families. All the booing, name calling, throwing of stuff just takes away from Nascar and all the drivers. I hope your blog does touch the fans. I’m a Kyle Busch fan but I know Jr. is going to get his win this year – he is doing so much better with the new team and it will happen. & I love the paint scheme for this race. So, I will be cheering on 18 (and all of Gibbs) but still would feel good if 88 gets his win tonite (not as good but…...) Good luck to all drivers & fans tonite – Happy Mother’s Day!

I watched the nationwide race last night and the fans did just that. I’m praying that it doesn’t happen tonight. Dale Jr’s like the son I never had. I have 1 daughter. I knew Dale Jr since he was a kid, but I truly disagree on the booing. Please RESPECT all drivers if only for the sake of their Mothers. Like you said, there’s a time and place for everything. Well Said. By the way, Jr. ROCKS! And… he WILL win … when the time is right. Hopefully that will be tonight driving DW’s old paint scheme.

Its one thing to boo or haze a driver, but leave the wife , kids, and parents out of it. Your beef is with the driver(if you have a beef) Not with anybody else!
