on the webpage today entitled “Why not qualify on Saturday?” Good question. I was in Bristol and there were several times when qualifying could have been conducted. Does everybody realize that if that happens this week Jamie McMurray and Kyle Petty will miss the race? NASCAR needs to think just a little outside the box and stop pulling the trigger on qualifying just because of a shower or two.

race weekends
depending on what races are being run, the track schedule is pretty busy with qualifying, practice, rookie practice, and other track events. i don’t know all the details, but my guess is the schedule is fairly tight and moving qualifying would eliminate practices. truck series schedules usually have qualifying, practice, and the race all in one day, but i don’t know if you could do that with the cup races.

I agree but don’t know the scheduling conflicts & logistics of why NASCAR pulls the plug. Guess we just have to go with the flow for now. Good point!
