Robby’s first win in New Hampshire 2001- bumping Jeff Gordon under caution to let him know he was there. Jeff asks, “Why did the 31 hit me? Does he want his lap back?” and his spotter answers back, “He’s in second”.

OFF THE TRACK: I also had a guy in a bar in Richmond put me on the phone to one of his friends to “prove Robby Gordon fans do exist.” I thought that was pretty funny.

I’m a die hard Robby Gordon fan. I have no second favorites. I watched racing for a few years with my husband but no driver ever did it for me…until Robby got into the 31. I loved that he was and still is an underdog. And a real one too- not like Michael Waltrip starting his own team but having the media and his left over DEI fans behind him, but a REAL underdog.
