Driving 24 hours to get to the Daytona 500 in ‘06 to watch #48 take the flag!!!

Lets see, My name is Heather. I am 28 years old and live somewhere in New England. I love racing and going to races, yakking about racing…everything it involves, unfortunatley there aren’t many people in my life that feel the same way so its great to come here and be able to meet other fans. I wasn’t a Nascar fan at first. Not at all. I didn’t see the great big thing of it… big deal, whoopie they are taking a left. But to be honest, watching Nascar on TV without knowing anything about the sport… just isn’t fun. I met someone in 04 that changed that for me. I remember him asking me if I liked Nascar, and I just laughed and said no… but that Lowes driver, he’s hot. (He just so happened to really dispise the whole Hendrick Team… Dale fan) So he told me that if I went to a race, I’d be hooked… Who was I to say no. I love live events, so off I went… 9/04 to New Hampshire. I LOVED IT! Everything about it, the scene was crazy… the people were passionate, the sound gave me goosebups, and lets face it… smelling that racing fuel… ahhhh… I loved the race. After that I was hooked, he was right. I started to learn more about the sport, the teams, the organization and most importantly THE DRAMA! (boy oh boy is there some Drama goin on every weekend no?) I watched it on TV every weekend. I became a Nascar Girl. I’ve been to a few races. 4 over at New Hampshire and one in Daytona. Daytona was the ultimate for me. We drove down in 06, and I got to see Jimmie take the flag… most memorable moment at a race or any event I’ve been to for me. (and I’ve seen some good stuff). Obviously, I’m a Johnson fan. A hendrick girl you could say… though Kyle Busch gets on my nerves, good driver…but I don’t like him for some reason. Glad to have Dale onboard with us next season, makes Hendrick one hell of a team.. Really looking forward to seeing what Dale can do with Hendrick equipment. I cannot stand Tony Stewart (sorry)... he urks the crap outta me and I think he is such a crybaby. Thats my Nascar history.

Oh and soon I will be flying down to Jamaica and marrying that sweet man who got me hooked on Nascar.
