The Foundation was launched January 18, 2006 so the Daytona 500 was very special for us.

Mission of The NASCAR Foundation: The NASCAR Foundation embodies the compassion of the NASCAR Family and our commitment to serving communitites. The Foundation supports a wide range of charitable initiatives that reflect the core values of the entire NASCAR Family. The NASCAR Foundation will use the strength of the sport and its people to make a difference in the lives of people who need it the most.

The Foundation brings together a diverse group of people from throughout the NASCAR Familty- drivers,teams,fans,industry partners, and others. We have 31 driver charities all representing a wide variety of causes. NASCAR Day, which is held annually before the Nextel All-Star Challenge, is a huge event for the foundation and 2007 was our inaugural year for the NASCAR Day Telethon.
