Most memorable NASCAR moment(s):

I took my daughter to her first race for her 5th birthday. We had recently moved to FL from VA, so I planned a road trip the weekend of her birthday and arranged to have her birthday party in VA Beach, VA the day before the race, and then surprise her race day. She thought it quite a treat just having her party with all her friends. The next morning we got up and got ready and started our trip. She had no idea what we were doing or where we were going. Then we got to the track and parked and she woke up from her morning nap… she paused… looked around… and yelled “MOM!!! WE’RE AT A RACE!” She was so excited. Well, I had gotten pit passes too, so that’s where we headed. I had made her a tank top w/ the cup logo on the back and the 48 and Lowes logos on the front. It also said Happy Birthday. Well, as we were walking by Jimmie Johnson’s Pit box, his crew guys noticed her shirt and asked if I had a camera w/ me. Well, of course. They sat her up on the pit wall inbetween them and I took their picture. They were so nice and sat and chatted w/ her. They mentioned it being her birthday and gave her a lugnut! She turned 8 this year and still tells the story about how Jimmie’s Guys gave her a lugnut for her birthday!

I love NASCAR, and I’m bringing my daughter up right cause she loves it too and she’s only 8! I’d love to go to all the races every year, but that’s just not possible on this single mom’s salary! LOL. So, I make what I can, and watch the others. My first race this year was the All Star Race in Charlotte, w/ my kid sister, Jordy. What an AMAZING time we had. I met Chad Knaus!!! He was so nice. We also made friends w/ several of the pit guys before the race. Mainly on the 43 team. DJ Copp being one of those who also is on ESPN’s NASCAR Now Thursdays and Sundays! Keep an eye open for him. He’s also on Brad Keslewoski’s (sp?) crew. Pretty neat. Looking forward to July cause I’ll be introducing my prospect to his first race – the Coke Zero 400 in Daytona. Can’t wait…
